Molly Day, CEO of Equestrian Events Inc. (EEI), which organizes major competitions like the Defender Kentucky CCI5 and the Kentucky International CSI5, has accepted a new position as director of the Fédération Equestre Internationale’s (FEI) newly merged Eventing and Driving Department. This strategic merger aims to foster growth and collaboration between eventing, driving, and para-driving disciplines. Day, who brings extensive experience in equestrian sport and event management from her roles in the UK and with EEI, will officially join the FEI on February 1, reporting to the FEI Executive Director of Sport and Games.
Day’s departure leaves EEI and the U.S. CCI5* events temporarily without executive leadership, especially following recent leadership changes at the Maryland 5 Star event. EEI’s board president, Prim Hudgins, confirmed that the organization is actively searching for Day’s replacement and expects to announce new leadership soon. Meanwhile, Day remains engaged with EEI during her transition through February to ensure stability and continuity for the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event and EEI’s broader portfolio.
