Milestones Equestrian Achievement Program, a nonprofit based in Independence, KY, has earned Premier Accredited Center status from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.), recognizing its commitment to safety, quality, and best practices in therapeutic horsemanship. Serving individuals with diverse challenges such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Down Syndrome, Milestones provided 40 weeks of lessons to 189 riders in 2024, supported by certified instructors and volunteers. The organization also offers programs like Silver Saddles for older adults and Horse Tales, a literacy initiative, further expanding its community impact.
Located on a 44-acre facility with state-of-the-art amenities and a carefully selected herd of therapy horses, Milestones fosters physical strength, confidence, and emotional well-being among participants. Honored as the 2024 Nonprofit of the Year for Therapeutic Camps by Cincy Magazine, Milestones plans to grow its therapeutic riding program in 2025 by adding more horses and riders, alongside enhanced outreach and fundraising efforts.
