Megan Van Liere, a talented and determined young barrel racer from South Dakota, has shown remarkable courage and growth through her rodeo journey. At 14, despite initial insecurities, Megan bravely sang the National Anthem at a state rodeo event, an act that deeply moved her family and community. Though she didn’t win the State 4H rodeo Queen Contest, her experience boosted her confidence, leading her to take bold steps such as securing a job independently and pursuing her passion for barrel racing.
Over the years, Megan has continued to excel in rodeo competitions, notably becoming the 2020 Reserve 4H Barrel Racing Champion alongside her horse Scrappy. Her story highlights not only her competitive successes but also her personal development and resilience, embodying the spirit of dedication and bravery that defines the rodeo community.
