Meet Scar: The Stunning 9-Year-Old Thoroughbred Gelding Ready for Adoption

Horse Illustrated, in partnership with the ASPCA’s Right Horse program, features Scar as this week’s adoptable horse. Scar is a 9-year-old, 17-hand Thoroughbred gelding with a racing history of 39 races. Rescued by Hidden Acres Rescue for Thoroughbreds in Cocoa, Florida, Scar is described as calm, confident, intelligent, and well-mannered with excellent ground and stall manners. He has no injuries or vices and is suited for various disciplines or trail riding, making him an ideal companion for potential adopters.

The ASPCA Right Horse initiative aims to increase horse adoption across the U.S. by connecting prospective owners with horses in need through its online platform, The Right Horse Initiative. Interested adopters can learn more about Scar and other adoptable horses by visiting myrighthorse.org or aspcarighthorse.org, supporting the mission to improve the lives of horses in transition.
