Lesley Whitehall has been appointed as the amateur hunter ride judge for the 2025 Royal International Horse Show (RIHS), working alongside conformation judge Michael Maryan. Lesley’s lifelong involvement with horses began in childhood, showing ponies with her family and competing extensively throughout her career. She has ridden and produced many successful horses, including notable placings at RIHS and the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). After a period of retirement, she recently returned to competition, winning significant events such as Royal Cornwall and Great Yorkshire.

Lesley brings decades of experience to her judging role, having worked with prominent trainers and competed at top-level shows. She emphasizes the importance of fair and thorough assessment of the horses’ rides, aiming to recognize quality and performance in the competitive amateur hunter classes. Her background and passion for the sport make her well-suited to evaluate the high-caliber competitors at the 2025 RIHS.
