Georgie Gibbs, a soon-to-be 90-year-old woman from Balnarring, is incredibly active and involved in various activities such as horse riding, singing in a choir, playing tennis, and being a member of a French speaking group. She attributes her good health to luck and enjoys keeping her mind active by staying busy with different hobbies. Born in England, she moved to Australia as a young adult and pursued a career in nursing after initially doing odd jobs in Perth.
Gibbs returned to nursing after living in Fiji for five years and eventually settled in Melbourne with her husband. Following his passing, she continued to stay active by horse riding, gardening, volunteering, and singing in a choir. Despite experiencing a major heart attack in 2015, she has remained healthy and credits her friends for their support in helping her stay active and engaged in her various activities.
For her upcoming 90th birthday, Gibbs plans to have a quiet celebration with family after enjoying a weekend at Venus Bay. She continues to lead a fulfilling life filled with activities she loves, such as horse riding, gardening, and singing, and is grateful for the support of her friends in maintaining her active lifestyle.
