The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team is gearing up for the 2025-26 season with nine new members, including freshman Emily Jurnovoy from Woodstock Valley, Connecticut. Emily specializes in Jumping Seat and comes with an impressive competitive background, including top finishes at prestigious equitation events like the New England Equitation Finals and the Maclay at Devon. She chose Auburn for its beautiful campus and close-knit team atmosphere and values the patience horseback riding has taught her. Balancing academics, riding, and social life is her biggest challenge, but she enjoys skiing, cooking, and baking outside of the barn.

Emily describes the Auburn equestrian team as “cohesive” and admires the hard work and dedication of her teammates both in practice and horse care. Inspired by her grandmother, who also rides, Emily’s favorite place to ride is her family’s farm, where she grew up. She advises younger riders aiming for college competition to understand that progression is measured in many ways, highlighting the importance of continuous growth and effort.
