In Massachusetts, police and fire crews swiftly responded to a distress call after a dog named Rufus fell through a hole in the ice at Mill Pond. Drone footage captured first responders quickly reaching the scene and sliding into the freezing water to rescue the dog, who was at risk of hypothermia. Within 10 minutes, firefighters safely extracted Rufus and reunited him with his family.
Fire Chief Angela Lawless praised the teamwork and composure of the responders, emphasizing the urgency of such rescues in freezing conditions. Fortunately, Rufus suffered no serious injuries and was able to return home safely.
