The Maryland Horse Industry Board, under the Maryland Department of Agriculture, has launched MarylandHorsePark.org to celebrate Maryland Horse Month starting October 1. This new digital platform serves as the first centralized hub to showcase Maryland’s premier equine venues, educational resources, and tourism opportunities. It highlights four key pillars of the Maryland Horse Park System: Fair Hill Special Events Zone, Prince George’s Equestrian Center, Maryland Horse Library & Education Center, and the Pimlico Race Course Redevelopment, home of the Preakness Stakes.
Valued at $2.9 billion annually, Maryland’s horse industry is a significant contributor to the state’s agriculture and tourism sectors. The website aims to connect visitors and residents with horse-related experiences, events, and educational content, supporting local businesses and promoting Maryland as a top equestrian destination. This initiative is part of a multi-year strategic plan to strengthen tourism, preserve open spaces, and celebrate the state’s equine heritage and innovation.
