Maryland Horse Breeders Association to Host 92nd Annual Thoroughbred Yearling Show on June 28

The Maryland Horse Breeders Association (MHBA) will hold its 92nd annual Thoroughbred Yearling Show on June 28 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. Open to all yearlings eligible for Maryland-bred registration, the show features four classes based on sire location and gender, with prizes including $1,000 awards per class, additional Maryland Million awards, and cash prizes for grand champion and reserve winners. Entry fees are $25 before June 1 and $50 afterward. Exhibitors also have the chance to earn part of a $40,000 premium based on their yearlings’ earnings as 2- and 3-year-olds.

Established in 1932 and held at Timonium since 1960, the MHBA Yearling Show has a rich history with notable judges including 27 Hall of Fame trainers and past participants who became major winners like Breeders’ Cup champions and Maryland-bred Horses of the Year. The event remains a prestigious platform for showcasing Maryland-bred Thoroughbreds and supporting local breeders.
