The Maryland Horse Breeders Association (MHBA) has elected five members to its 2025 Board of Directors, including four returning members—Richard F. Blue Jr., Christine Holden, Grace Merryman, and Kent Allen Murray—and one new member, Garrett Murray. These individuals will serve three-year terms, with several bringing extensive experience in horse breeding and farm management. Notably, Kent Allen Murray continues his role as MHBA president, while Garrett Murray joins with a strong background in farm management and involvement in the Maryland Steeplechase Association.
They join an existing board comprising ten other directors, continuing the leadership and governance of the MHBA. The association also expressed gratitude to outgoing board members Amy Burk and T.K. Kuegler for their years of service. This election follows MHBA bylaws and reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting Maryland’s horse breeding industry.
