Mary King recently completed her eighth annual Liberty Trails ride across Dartmoor, enjoying two days of scenic riding followed by luxury accommodations at Bovey Castle Hotel. She expressed gratitude to her guests, horses, and Liberty Trails for the experience, humorously calling it an “arduous task (not!!).” Meanwhile, several U.S. eventing competitions are upcoming, including the stable View Summer H.T. in South Carolina and the Maryland International CCI & H.T., which will feature the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championship.

In other equestrian news, the FEI has appointed two new Executive Directors to strengthen its strategic vision, while US Equestrian awarded a $20,000 grant to Greater Good Charities for horse rescue efforts in Southern California. A remarkable moment occurred at Upperville when amateur rider Alex Alston calmly handled a bit failure mid-course, showcasing poise under pressure. Additionally, Canadian courts are increasingly holding individuals liable for defamatory social media posts, emphasizing the importance of responsible online communication. Lastly, Alyssa Phillips bid a heartfelt retirement to her longtime partner horse Oskar, celebrating their many achievements together.
