Brazil’s Marlon Modolo Zanotelli won the prestigious CSI5–CHI Al Shaqab Grand Prix at the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026, riding his mare Charly Heart to victory in a competitive 1.60m jump-off event. Zanotelli completed the decisive round in 36.65 seconds to claim the €172,500 prize, followed by Belgium’s Pieter Devos and Lebanon’s Roger Chammas in second and third places. The event, part of a 10-round series with over €1.3 million in prize money, also featured notable wins in other categories, including Switzerland’s Nadja Peter Steiner in the CSI3 1.50m Grand Prix Jump-Off and an all-Qatari podium in the CSI1* 1.30m Grand Prix Jump-Off.
In dressage, Britain’s Carl Hester triumphed in the CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 82.975, while Germany’s Leonie Laugks won the Grand Prix Special. The championship showcased a broad range of equestrian disciplines, including para-dressage, with winners from the USA, Sweden, and Italy in various grades. Khalifa Al Attiyah, Executive Director of the Doha Equestrian Tour, praised the event’s high skill level, strong public engagement, and diverse competitions, emphasizing the success of the four-day format in delivering world-class performances and an exceptional atmosphere.
