Maria von Essen of Sweden secured her first FEI dressage World Cup qualifier victory in Gothenburg with her horse Invoice, achieving a personal best score of 82.645%. She was closely followed by fellow Swede Patrik Kittel on Touchdown, who scored 81.920%, and Denmark’s Carina Cassøe Krüth on Heiline’s Danciera in third. Von Essen’s freestyle performance, set to Les Misérables, showcased expressive and precise movements, while Kittel delivered a faultless test that kept him second in the World Cup standings.
The event highlighted strong Danish performances as well, with Danish riders taking fourth to sixth places, underscoring their depth in the sport. The next and final Western European League qualifier will be held in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, on March 13-14, where the last spots for the World Cup Final will be decided.
