Manhattan’s HHH Ranch Reflects on a Year of Unprecedented Animal Rescues and Community Support

HHH Ranch, a Manhattan-based nonprofit rescue farm founded by Christine Doran, experienced an unprecedented year in 2025 marked by a surge in animal rescues and expanded therapeutic programs. The ranch took in 25 severely neglected horses and over 20 small livestock, many requiring urgent medical care. Community support enabled the purchase of rare equipment like an equine sling, enhancing their capacity to aid critically injured animals. Beyond rescues, HHH Ranch launched several impactful programs including stable Moments, which supports foster and post-adoption youth through mentorship and horse interaction to build life skills and resilience, as well as educational and veteran-focused initiatives designed to foster healing and confidence.

Despite these successes, the ranch faces ongoing financial and operational challenges, including the need for feed, equipment, and infrastructure improvements. Fundraising efforts have provided critical resources such as a new tractor and a donated truck, but continued donations are essential to sustain animal care and program delivery. Doran emphasized the vital role of community support in enabling the ranch’s mission to provide second chances for both animals and vulnerable youth, with plans to expand services to include support for formerly incarcerated foster youth in the coming years.
