Man v Horse England 2025: Endurance Race Across Quantock Hills Returns with Unique Human vs Horse Challenge

The Man v Horse England endurance race is a challenging 23-mile competition across the rugged Quantock Hills, where runners compete directly against horse riders. Scheduled for October 18, the race covers forest tracks, open moorland, and steep climbs. The 2023 event saw 28 riders and 46 runners from across the UK, culminating in a rare dead heat between runner Robin Fieldhouse and horse rider Glenda Smith, who completed the course in just over three hours.

Originating from a Welsh race dating back to 1980, Man v Horse England emphasizes friendly competition, community spirit, and mental health awareness. Profits from the 2025 race will support the Pegasus Project, which collaborates with Turning Point to provide Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy for young people recovering from psychological trauma. Organizers highlight the event’s focus on compassion and community, aiming to foster both physical endurance and mental well-being.
