Erynn Ballard (CAN) narrowly missed second place with Epsilon de Brenil, finishing in 37.82 seconds, while Nina Mallevaey (FRA) and My Clementine took third in 38.29 seconds. Shane Sweetnam (IRL) and James Kann Cruz placed fourth, and Laura Kraut (USA) finished fifth despite a faster time but with jumping faults. After a successful rest period following wins at the Brussels CSIO5* show, Maher’s 15-year-old KWPN mare Ginger-Blue returned to competition with three consecutive wins, demonstrating her carefulness and strong work ethic.
Maher, who has ridden Ginger-Blue since she was seven, has recently focused on targeting classes better suited to her as she ages, allowing her to perform consistently at a high level. He has also been refining his jump-off strategy to take more risks, which has started to pay off. Ginger-Blue’s natural speed and agility helped Maher navigate a challenging course, narrowly securing victory despite a critical stride added near the final jump.
