Lucky Vega’s Progeny Shine at Yearling Sales: Within the Law’s Impact on the Market

Lucky Vega’s second crop progeny have been more popular at yearling sales this year, with a filly from Queen Iseult selling for $340,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. Bred and offered for sale by Yulong, this filly was purchased by Astute Bloodstock / Mystery Downs / Curtis Racing and is the first foal of Queen Iseult.

Queen Iseult, an unraced daughter of Fastnet Rock, is a half-sister to Group I winner Silent Sedition and comes from a family of Group I winners. She had a filly last year by Alabama Express and was covered by Yulong’s first season Japanese horse Diatonic (Jpn).

Lucky Vega, a Group I winner at two, has had six runners so far with three winners and three placed horses. His first crop of yearlings received a lukewarm reception, but his progeny have been in demand at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, with all five offered so far selling for $100,000 or more. Buyers can expect to see more Lucky Vega progeny at upcoming sales.
