During the 2026 Pennsylvania 4-H State Leadership Conference held at the Penn Stater Hotel in State College, Adelaide Miller, a Mill Hall native and first-year student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was named to the Pennsylvania 4-H State Council Team. The council, composed of eight youth from across the state, serves as official youth representatives for the Pennsylvania 4-H program, engaging in leadership roles, event planning, and statewide 4-H activities throughout their term. Miller, involved in various 4-H projects such as poultry, rabbits, baking, and leadership, expressed how 4-H has taught her perseverance and goal-setting, and she plans to pursue a baking and pastry arts degree with aspirations to open a farm-to-table bakery.
The other seven council members come from diverse counties and backgrounds, each bringing unique experiences and leadership skills gained through 4-H projects ranging from animal science and environmental studies to public speaking and STEM. These young leaders, including seniors and college students, plan to pursue careers in fields such as veterinary medicine, environmental science, medical imaging, naval architecture, agricultural business, livestock veterinary care, and land surveying. Administered by Penn State Extension, Pennsylvania 4-H is a youth development program that fosters knowledge and skills to help young people become capable, caring, and contributing citizens.
