Finbarr Galvin Ltd, a car dealership in Cork, has donated a rescue van to My Lovely Horse Rescue Cork (MLHR Cork), significantly enhancing the charity’s ability to transport injured animals. The van was immediately utilized to transport a critically injured horse, highlighting the urgent need for reliable transport as MLHR Cork cares for 30 horses and ponies across various locations without a permanent base.
Martina Kenny, co-founder of MLHR, expressed deep gratitude for the donation, emphasizing that the van is crucial for their operations. It enables the team to respond more quickly to emergencies and facilitate the rehabilitation of animals that have suffered from neglect or cruelty. Recently, the van was used to relocate a critically injured horse and five ponies to new homes, showcasing its immediate impact.
Justin Galvin, managing director of Finbarr Galvin Ltd, noted his daughter’s volunteer work with MLHR, which inspired the dealership to contribute. He praised the dedication of the charity’s team and expressed pride in supporting their mission. Despite lacking a permanent rescue base, MLHR Cork continues to care for rescued animals and is seeking assistance from anyone who can provide land or support.
