Olympic event rider Liz Halliday, who suffered serious injuries in a fall in August 2024, has made significant progress in her recovery and has been officially graded as an FEI grade II para dressage rider. After spending over a year in hospitals and rehab, she returned home in December 2025 and is now riding three days a week. Recently, she traveled to Florida for her para dressage grading, which assessed her capabilities without riding, and she is preparing to compete again this year. Liz expressed excitement about joining the para dressage community, praising the resilience and dedication of fellow competitors.
Liz also shared that returning home and riding in her own arena has been a major boost to her spirits. She is grateful to her support team and especially happy to have her former competition horse, Deniro Z, back at her farm, which has helped her feel more normal again. Deniro Z was instrumental in advancing her career, with notable international successes including top finishes at the Kentucky Three-Day Event and Burghley Horse Trials. Liz’s journey marks an inspiring new chapter as she embraces para dressage and looks forward to competing once more.
