Lightning struck a house and ignited a small horse shelter storing hay in Damascus, Maryland, on Wednesday evening. Firefighters from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident on Bethesda Church Road, extinguishing the fire in the shelter while confirming that the house itself did not catch fire.
No injuries or displacements were reported as a result of the lightning strike and subsequent fire. Fire officials ensured the safety of the residents and animals involved, with no damage inside the home.
