The renowned racehorse Nixgo, celebrated globally for winning prestigious races such as the Breeders’ Cup Classic and Pegasus World Cup, has arrived at Jeju Ranch under the Korea Racing Authority. Selected through the K-Nicks genetic evaluation system, Nixgo earned top honors including the 2021 Eclipse Awards Horse of the Year and Ronjin World’s Best Racehorse, solidifying his legendary status. His arrival marks a significant milestone for the Korean horse industry, promising to enhance domestic breeding and racing standards.

To support local breeders, the Korean Horse Association is offering free breeding services with Nixgo this year, allowing up to 130 horses to be crossed starting mid-February. This initiative aims to spread Nixgo’s superior lineage, known for speed and endurance suited to Korea’s racing environment, thereby boosting the competitiveness of domestic racehorses and increasing farm incomes through potential exports. Officials view this as a pivotal step toward elevating Korean horse racing to a global level.
