Lauren Stebbins, a fifth-year senior at Baylor, spent her first three years on the equestrian team primarily as a warm-up rider, contributing behind the scenes rather than competing. Despite her extensive competitive background before college, the large team and limited competition spots initially kept her out of the ring. However, in her senior year, she was unexpectedly given the chance to compete, quickly proving herself with a strong record and memorable performances, including a key victory against a top-ranked opponent. Lauren’s journey reflects her growth in confidence, leadership as SAAC president, and deepening faith, which helped her overcome challenges like the loss of a horse and imposter syndrome.
Off the field, Lauren has embraced Baylor fully, both academically and personally. After earning a psychology degree, she is pursuing an MBA with aspirations in wealth management, drawn by her passion for building relationships and investing. Originally from Atlanta, she now loves Texas and plans to build her career there. Her story highlights resilience, community, and personal development, making her a valued member of the Baylor equestrian team and campus community.
