Lauren Nicholson Leads CCI4-L at MARS Bromont with Impressive Dressage Score

At the MARS Bromont event in Quebec, Lauren Nicholson is competing in the CCI4*-L division with her horse Larcot Z, achieving a leading dressage score of 27.1. Nicholson, who has been developing her partnership with the 12-year-old Zangersheide gelding for two years, expressed her enthusiasm for the challenging courses at Bromont, which she believes prepare competitors for international events. Following her in the rankings are Australian riders Ema Klugman and Canadian Olympian Jessica Phoenix.

The MARS Bromont Rising program also kicked off, featuring U25 competitors in the CCI2-L and CCI3-L divisions. Participants received dressage lessons from German Olympian Bettina Hoy and walked the cross-country course with insights from course designer Derek di Grazia. Kelsey Seidel leads the U25 CCI2*-L with a score of 29.2, crediting her training with Sara Kozumplik and Hoy for her success.

In the CCI3-L, Boyd Martin leads with a score of 29.9 on his horse Fetiche Des Rouges, noting the event’s challenging terrain and world-class facilities. He emphasized the importance of competing at Bromont to prepare horses for higher levels of competition. As the event continues, Alexandra Knowles leads the CCI2-L with a score of 28.0, with more dressage rounds scheduled for Friday.
