Lambourn Open Day returned on Good Friday 2026, attracting large crowds eager to experience a variety of horseracing-related activities. Highlights included top trainer Nicky Henderson attempting sheep herding, Constitution Hill drawing significant attention at Seven Barrows, and popular horse swimming sessions at Rhonehurst. The afternoon featured a parade of notable equine champions such as Constitution Hill, Altior, Coneygree, Mister Coffey, Champ, and Mr Vango, alongside events like the Vine and Craven Foxhounds parade, the Tattersalls Shetland Grand National, a dog show, and Carisbrooke Stud show jumping.
Organiser Mark Smyly noted the excellent turnout despite poor weather, with Nicky Henderson’s yard particularly well attended. The event celebrated Lambourn’s key role in horseracing and successfully raised funds for the Lambourn Valley Housing Trust and local charities, including the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Overall, the day combined entertainment, community spirit, and support for local causes, reinforcing Lambourn’s vibrant racing heritage.
