La Salle County 4-H members are preparing for their annual 4-H Fair, themed “4-H by the Decades,” showcasing year-round projects, service learning, and community activities. The fair runs from July 10 to 13 at the La Salle County Fairgrounds in Ottawa, featuring a variety of events including exhibitions and judging of non-livestock projects like aerospace, visual arts, and food science, as well as livestock shows, dog shows, style revues, and evening entertainment such as truck and tractor pulls, rodeos, and demolition derbies.
Throughout the four days, attendees can enjoy diverse activities such as swine, poultry, dairy, goat, horse, beef, and sheep shows, public speaking contests, talent performances, auctions benefiting 4-H programming, and special recognitions for graduating youth. The fair concludes with a closing ceremony honoring exhibitors and graduates, with projects released around 4 p.m. For more information or accommodations, contact the University of Illinois La Salle County Extension or the La Salle County Junior Fair Association.
