The Korea Racing Authority Social Contribution Foundation has launched the “Ma-Nong Culture Experience,” a program designed to provide urban elementary school students with hands-on exposure to horse culture and rural life. Over the past eight years, the foundation has invested more than 2.5 billion won to support 13,042 students, aiming to promote emotional well-being and healthy character development through direct interaction with nature and traditional rural experiences.
The program features three main courses: horse culture experience, which covers the history, culture, and horseback riding; farm and fishing village culture experience, offering insights into local rural life; and horse industry and career experience, introducing students to career paths related to the horse industry such as veterinary work and horseback riding professions. Officials emphasize that this immersive experience allows urban children to connect deeply with nature and rural traditions.
