Twenty-five youth recently participated in the Kootenai/Shoshone County 4-H Hippology Contest, which featured a written test, horse judging, a knowledge station course, and team presentations. The 2026 junior hippology team includes Reese Robb, Aralynn Torba, Catherine Perry, and Eden Ryan, while the senior team comprises Melanie Rabello, Sophia Paliotto, Shelby Roberge, and Zia Izzard.

Additionally, 48 youth competed in the county 4-H Horse Bowl Contest on March 21, with top finishers advancing to represent the county at the Northern District 4-H Horse Contests in Lewiston on June 16-17. The junior horse bowl team consists of Catherine Perry, Aralynn Torba, Roselee Williams, Reese Robb, and alternate Kenna Stanley, while the senior team includes Kenzlie Gerig, Zia Izzard, Melanie Rabello, Shelby Roberge, and alternate Sophie Paliotto.
