King Ke, trained by Pesi Shroff and ridden by apprentice jockey S. Siddarth, is favored to win the Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area Trophy at Mahalaxmi Racecourse on Sunday. This feature race, the first of the New Year 2026, will cover a mile and a quarter and features only three runners. King Ke recently finished second to stablemate Tiepolo, suggesting strong form and making him the clear odds-on favorite.
The other two contenders in the race are Kimiko and Alpine Star, who are considered the main challengers to King Ke. The race is part of an eight-race card starting at 1:30 pm, with King Ke expected to lead the selections for the feature event.
