Kilmarnock Horse & Donkey Rescue is hosting an Open Day and Fun Dog Show on Sunday, 28 September 2025, at their West Sussex sanctuary, Old Pound Cottage. The event, running from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, aims to raise vital funds for the care of rescued horses, donkeys, and ponies. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including a dog show with multiple classes, opportunities to meet the rescue animals and hear their stories, children’s entertainment like treasure hunts and inflatables, and a marketplace featuring local businesses and food stalls. Admission is £3 for adults and £2 for children, with all proceeds supporting the sanctuary’s ongoing rehabilitation and rehoming efforts.
The rescue centre provides emergency rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming, and lifelong sanctuary for neglected equines in the region.
