Kildare-based animal rescue centre My Lovely Horse has strongly denied anonymous online accusations claiming they steal horses from Traveller fields to sell in Europe. The charity, which rescues and rehabilitates neglected animals, responded to the claims made by an X account following their recent rescue of a mistreated horse involved in the Citywest protest. My Lovely Horse clarified they do not steal horses and have only sent a small number abroad, emphasizing their respect for all communities and animals.

The rescue centre shared details of the recent case where they were called by Gardaí to assist a severely injured horse suffering from exhaustion and injuries caused by mistreatment. They highlighted the horse’s poor condition and ongoing veterinary care, while condemning the false accusations as harmful and baseless.
