Kildare-based animal rescue centre My Lovely Horse has strongly denied anonymous online accusations claiming they steal horses from Traveller fields to sell in Europe. The charity, which rescues and rehabilitates neglected animals, clarified that they have only ever sent eight horses abroad and categorically do not steal animals. They emphasized their respectful work with travelling communities and condemned the baseless allegations as harmful and unfounded.
The controversy arose after My Lovely Horse rescued a severely mistreated horse involved in recent Dublin protests, with Gardaí calling on the charity for assistance. The horse was found exhausted and injured, receiving urgent veterinary care. My Lovely Horse continues to focus on animal welfare and is seeking donations to support their ongoing rescue efforts.
