Kentucky Senate Unanimously Passes Bill to Enhance Safety at Horse Park

The Kentucky state Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 68, sponsored by Sen. Amanda Mays Bledsoe, to enhance safety at the Kentucky Horse Park. The legislation grants park leadership the authority to remove individuals who pose a risk to guests, staff, or participants, specifically targeting those restricted from Olympic, Paralympic, or equestrian sports by the U.S. Center for Safe Sports due to abuse or misconduct violations.

Senator Mays Bledsoe emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at the Horse Park, which holds a significant place in the international equestrian community. The bill aims to close existing gaps in authority to ensure individuals on the Safe Sports suspension or ban list can be removed from the property. With a 35-0 Senate vote, the bill now moves to the House for further consideration.
