Kent Farrington, ranked second in the world and based in Palm Beach, won the Winter Equestrian Festival’s prestigious $1 million Rolex Grand Prix riding his horse Greya. This victory, achieved at the festival’s final Saturday Night Lights event, marks the first time in seven years that an American rider has claimed the Rolex Grand Prix title. Farrington outperformed a competitive field of 40 top riders, including notable athletes from Ireland and Germany, with five advancing to a tie-breaking jump-off.
The Winter Equestrian Festival, held in Wellington, spanned 13 weeks and attracted a sold-out crowd of 10,000, solidifying its status as Palm Beach County’s largest sporting event. Farrington’s win adds a significant highlight to the festival’s reputation and showcases the high level of competition and local talent present at this major equestrian event.
