Kemmerer 4-H Club Hosts Successful Annual Haunted Hayride Fundraiser

The Kemmerer 4-H Club, with support from the city and local contributors, successfully hosted its annual Haunted Hayride on October 13. The event featured a wagon ride from the Kemmerer Little League Fields to the Fossil Island Golf Course trail, where participants encountered spooky scenes with clowns, skeletons, and other eerie decorations. Originally started over a decade ago as a Haunted Barn fundraiser, the event raises money to cover 4-H membership fees and supplies, ensuring the program remains free for local children.

Despite chilly weather, the hayride drew a growing crowd throughout the evening, with horses and drivers dressed as plague doctors transporting guests to the haunted trail. Attendees enjoyed both the wagon ride and the spooky attractions, with feedback collected via a survey to enhance future events. The Haunted Hayride continues to be a popular community tradition that supports youth involvement in 4-H projects.
