Katie Reilly Rises as Top Irish Para Dressage Rider with Eyes on 2028 Paralympics

Katie Reilly, an 18-year-old para dressage rider from Ireland now based in Allostock, is rapidly establishing herself as a top competitor on the international stage. Currently ranked number one globally in the under-18 category and third overall in grade three, she is also the highest-ranked Irish para dressage rider across all grades. Despite being born with cerebral palsy and right-side hemiplegia, Katie has demonstrated remarkable skill and determination, recently narrowly missing a bronze medal at the FEI Para dressage European Championships and gaining valuable experience at the 2024 Paris Paralympics as an involved spectator.

Looking ahead, Katie is focused on intensive winter training to refine her performance and aims to compete internationally again next year. Riding her horse Keystone Dawn Chorus (Lottie), a multiple Paralympic medallist’s former mount, and her second horse Impulz W, she is targeting the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. To realize this dream, Katie is seeking financial sponsorship to cover the estimated £70,000 cost of competing at that level, building on support from several equine industry sponsors. Interested backers can contact her team to help support her journey to LA.
