Kathleen Mary (Keenan) Halverson, born December 12, 1939, in Austin, MN, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2025, surrounded by family. A devoted Hennepin County probation officer for over 35 years, Kathleen was known for her compassionate and insightful reports that helped humanize those she worked with. She was deeply committed to her family, especially in caring for her brother Billy, who had Down Syndrome. Kathleen’s warmth extended to her home, where she lovingly prepared homemade meals and welcomed guests with genuine hospitality. She shared a lifelong love with her husband Eugene, whom she married after knowing since first grade, and together they enjoyed camping, canoeing, and supporting their six grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Eugene, daughters Kate and Molly, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings and in-laws. A Funeral Mass will be held on June 18, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with visitation prior to the service and interment at Calvary Cemetery. Her legacy of love, advocacy, and family devotion remains deeply cherished by all who knew her.
