Ka Ying Rising Aims for Record 18th Straight Win in Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup at Sha Tin

Ka Ying Rising, the world’s top-rated sprinter, aims to secure a record-breaking 18th consecutive victory in the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup (G1) at Sha Tin Racecourse on February 22. With nine rivals entered, none have previously challenged his dominance. Trainer David Hayes is confident in Ka Ying Rising’s form, noting his strong recent trials. Should Ka Ying Rising falter, contenders Lucky Sweynesse and Helios Express are poised to benefit, with Lucky Sweynesse showing promise after injury and Helios Express having previously finished close behind Ka Ying Rising.

Ka Ying Rising specializes in 1,200-meter sprints, with most of his wins at this distance, while Lucky Sweynesse excels at the longer 1,600-meter distance. An 18-win streak would surpass the legendary Silent Witness, who held the Hong Kong record with a celebrated career from 2002 to 2005. Ka Ying Rising has already matched and exceeded many of Silent Witness’ achievements, including multiple Group 1 wins in Hong Kong and a landmark victory in Australia’s Everest (G1), solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest sprinters in Hong Kong racing history.
