Justin Verboomen, riding Zonik Plus, narrowly defeated Charlotte Fry on Glamourdale to win The Dutch Masters Grand Prix Freestyle in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, securing Western Europe’s final qualifier spot for the World Cup Final in Fort Worth, Texas. Verboomen and the 10-year-old stallion earned an impressive 89.205%, marking their seventh consecutive victory, while Fry and her 15-year-old KWPN stallion scored 89.085% for second place. Marieke van der Putten on Zantana RS2 OLD finished third with 82.175%. This event concluded the Western European qualifiers amid uncertainties about the World Championships lineup in Aachen and potential travel challenges.
With all Western European qualifiers complete, invitations for the World Cup Final are expected soon. If top contenders like Glamourdale or Zonik Plus do not attend, invitations may extend to other promising riders such as Britain’s Becky Moody on Jagerbomb, Belgium’s Larissa Pauluis on Flambeau, and Germany’s Raphael Netz on DSP Dieudonne. The competition remains highly competitive as riders and horses vie for spots in the prestigious World Cup Final and the upcoming World Championships, which also serve as qualifiers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
