Justin Verboomen and Zonik Plus Shine with First FEI Dressage World Cup Freestyle Win

Justin Verboomen and his striking black stallion Zonik Plus have rapidly risen to prominence in international dressage over the past year. Their breakthrough came with a Grand Prix win at the FEI dressage World Cup in Mechelen last December, and they recently secured their first FEI dressage World Cup Freestyle victory at the packed Eurexpo arena. Following their double gold at the European Championships in Crozet, Zonik Plus has demonstrated increased harmony, softness, and precision in their performances.

Verboomen described their recent Grand Prix test as their best ever, highlighting the exceptional connection with Zonik Plus. However, during the Freestyle, a few minor errors occurred due to the horse being slightly unsettled by the warm, crowded arena. Verboomen remains focused on further developing Zonik Plus’s suppleness, confidence, and harmony through continued training at home.
