Judy Sloan: A Lifelong Passion for Horses and Advocacy in Equestrian Sport

Judy Sloan’s lifelong passion for horses began in early childhood and evolved into a successful amateur dressage career at the FEI level. After a 13-year hiatus during her academic and corporate career—where she spent 25 years as a senior partner at Deloitte—she returned to riding, finding joy and fulfillment in dressage. Sloan has earned a USDF Gold Medal with her Lusitano and Westphalian horses and continues to compete while valuing the harmony and connection experienced during daily training sessions.

Beyond competing, Sloan is deeply committed to advancing horse welfare, accessibility, and therapeutic riding. She serves on multiple boards and advisory councils, including U.S. Equestrian and The dressage Foundation, and volunteers with organizations like Vinceramos Therapeutic Riding Center and Brooke USA. Living between Florida and New York, Sloan dedicates herself to fostering community outreach and supporting equestrian causes that improve the lives of horses and riders alike.
