John McCormick, born in 1947 and raised in upstate New York, passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by family. After graduating from Maine-Endwell High School and attending Lehigh University, he embarked on a successful career as a computer programmer, founding his own business in 1976. John shared a lifelong passion for horses, inspired by his daughter, and later developed a love for Phillies baseball. He cherished his role as a grandfather and enjoyed supporting his grandsons’ activities.

In retirement, John dedicated himself to community service, volunteering with the New Castle County Police Senior Roll Call program and assisting seniors with tax preparation through AARP. He is survived by his wife Connie, their two children, and grandchildren. The family requests donations in his memory to the Delaware City Fire Company or Guiding Eyes for the Blind, honoring his legacy of kindness and service.
