Chief Executive John Lee expressed his hope that the Tourism Board will continue collaborating with the Jockey Club to promote horse racing as a central element of Hong Kong’s travel offerings. Speaking at Sha Tin Racecourse during the start of the racing season, Lee encouraged the travel industry to develop high-quality tour packages incorporating horse racing to showcase Hong Kong’s rich history and racing culture.
Lee also highlighted that the government and the Jockey Club plan to jointly create “sports tourism experiences” aimed at attracting tourists for international race days, performances, and themed racing events, thereby enhancing Hong Kong’s appeal as a destination for sports and cultural tourism.
