John Harry Weaver, a lifelong resident of Lancaster County and devoted Christian, passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by family. Born in Elmira, New York, in 1946, John’s life was deeply rooted in faith and horses. He was actively involved in his Lutheran church communities and dedicated his professional career to training and teaching horsemanship, working at notable stables and supporting therapeutic riding programs. Known for his authenticity, generosity, and unwavering faith, John lived simply and embraced all people without judgment.
Despite battling Parkinson’s disease and terminal esophageal cancer, John remained loving and selfless until the end. He is survived by his siblings, nephews, and his devoted companion of 25 years, Kathy Steinmetz, who provided exceptional care in his final years. A funeral service will be held on March 20, 2026, with donations in his memory suggested for the Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center, reflecting his lifelong passion for horses and community service.
