Joan Ann Moyer, aged 89, of Pine Grove, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. A dedicated educator, she taught English and German for 31 years in the Pine Grove School District after earning her teaching degree from Millersville University. Joan was deeply passionate about animals, having grown up on a farm and later engaging in horse riding, 4H competitions, and dog obedience training, earning numerous accolades with her shepherds. She also enjoyed flying, traveling, water skiing, photography, and reading.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Marlin “Chub” Moyer, and a son, Dale A. Moyer. She is survived by her son Marlin M. Moyer II, two grandchildren, a great-grandson, a sister, and other family members. Graveside services are scheduled for November 7, 2025, with a celebration of her life planned for the following spring. The family requests donations in her memory be made to local animal welfare organizations.
