Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, Germany’s two-time Olympic dressage champion, has transitioned from a focus on competition with her celebrated horse TSF Dalera BB to embracing Dalera’s retirement and new role as a mother. After a decorated career including Olympic golds, World Cup wins, and European Championship titles, Dalera retired at age 17 following the 2024 Paris Olympics. Von Bredow-Werndl expressed her hopes for Dalera to have a foal, a dream realized in March 2026 when Dalera gave birth to a healthy filly named Dolce Vita BB, continuing the legacy of the “BB” lineage.
This new chapter is especially poignant for von Bredow-Werndl, who has shared a deep bond with Dalera throughout her own motherhood journey, riding her during pregnancy and introducing her children to the horse. The arrival of Dolce Vita BB also brings joy amid recent loss, as von Bredow-Werndl’s promising new Grand Prix horse, Diallo BB, passed away suddenly earlier in the year. The filly’s birth symbolizes hope and continuity for the rider and her cherished equine family.
