Jessica Taggart Rides to Second Place for Parktown High at Sanesa Regional Equestrian Competition

Jessica Taggart, a 14-year-old equestrian from Parktown High School for Girls, secured 2nd place for the Johannesburg Central A Team in both 90cm showjumping classes at the recent Sanesa Regional Competition. Having started riding in Grade 3 and competing since Grade 7 at Phaeton Park Stables, Jessica enjoys the adrenaline and bond with her horse, balancing riding twice a week alongside school sports. The 90cm classes involved a two-round A2 event focusing on clear rounds and speed, and a timed single-round A1 event.

Jessica has also represented her school and region in various competitions, including the Gauteng B team at Nationals, where her team placed first and she ranked 8th individually. She expressed great enthusiasm for competing, particularly enjoying the thrill of the sport and the competitive environment at Sanesa events.
