Jeff Lifson, formerly of West Point Thoroughbreds and a longtime figure in horse racing, has launched a new racing partnership called U Racing Stables with his wife, Stephanie Collins. The partnership recently purchased nine 2-year-olds at auction, including their first starter, Revera, who debuted with a strong runner-up finish at Del Mar. U Racing Stables collaborates closely with trainers like John Sadler and Mark Glatt, as well as advisers and stride analysts, to make informed purchasing decisions. They raise capital upfront to maintain buying flexibility and have plans to debut more horses, including promising Kentucky runner Corona de Oro.
Drawing on his extensive experience, Lifson emphasizes the importance of buying quality horses and valuing the people who support the partnership. While acknowledging the challenge of competing against top juveniles from trainers like Bob Baffert, Lifson remains optimistic about U Racing Stables’ future, focusing on respect, collaboration, and strategic investment in promising young horses.
