Japan’s 19-Horse Delegation Ready for the Saudi Cup and Undercard Races

Japan is sending a 19-horse delegation to the Feb. 22 Saudi Cup and its undercard races at King Abdulaziz Racecourse, with quarantine starting on Feb. 6 and the flight to Riyadh scheduled for Feb. 13. The four representatives in the $20 million Saudi Cup are the top four finishers of the Tokyo Daishoten at Oi Racecourse.

Forever Young, winner of the Tokyo Daishoten, is a familiar name for U.S. racing fans after competing in the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Classic in 2024. Other members of Team Japan in the Saudi Cup include Wilson Tesoro, Ramjet, and Ushba Tesoro, with impressive racing backgrounds.

Shin Emperor, second in the Japan Cup, is expected to have a strong chance in the Neom Turf Cup, while Ten Happy Rose, fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Mile, is a leading contender in the 1351 Turf Sprint.
